Weird Thrift Store Finds #1
I am an avid thrift store shopper. I love the thrill of finding the unexpected. However, sometimes, the unexpected is just plain weird. A while ago I found this little treasure. In case you were wondering what happens to all the evidence the police collect.
Garden Screen Wall Art
Having a new apartment after living in one room is a prime opportunity to exercise my DIY skills! This first post is an easy DIY. It is only seeing the potential of something unconventional. While garage sale-ing, I found these garden screens. There were about 20 of them and they were pretty dirty, but I saw the geometric design and fell in love. I even paid the full twenty dollar asking price at a garage sale (gasp).
Some of the screens were falling apart, but I got the screen that I thought was the sturdiest and took it home. I used rags and some orange wood floor cleaner. It cleaned up nicely and the wear and tear added to the charm. I added picture hangers to the back of the screens so could hang it on the wall.

My favorite part is the old paint that is still on the sides of the screen.
